Design Collective Game Night
Design Collective’s mission is to strengthen the community of designers at Miami by building upon professional development experiences and centering them on communication designer’s professional needs.
Students pursuing a career in communication design require a strong network of designers, a competitive portfolio and resume, and the professional skills necessary to work within a team. Miami offers coursework and orgs that provide some opportunities for networking and career development, they do not specifically address the needs of this small yet vital group within the creative arts department. Our organization will bridge this gap by creating a dedicated space for communication design students to build a strong network of peers and industry professionals. We will focus on providing tailored workshops, portfolio reviews, and resume-building sessions that are directly relevant to the communication design field. We’ll facilitate connections through mentorship programs, guest speakers, and interactive events that are specifically designed to resonate with the career paths communication designers are most likely to pursue.
This upcoming meeting on Thursday, October 3, 2024 will be a community building game night and info session! Anyone that is interested should join us at 5:40 p.m. in Hiestand 218, bring a game if you’d like – but some will be provided! There will be information about potential leadership roles and general club info.
