Jen Baran Design: Volunteer Internship
I’m a 2013 graduate of Miami University from the Department of Interior Design and Architecture, and I’ve recently started my own company, Jen Baran Design. My business has grown, and I’m now looking to bring on some talented interns to assist with graphic design on a project-based or weekly basis.
While this would be an unpaid position, I want to offer several benefits:
- Portfolio development: Interns can include any work they produce in their personal portfolio.
- Letter of recommendation: I’ll be happy to provide one based on their contributions.
- LinkedIn position: They’ll be able to add this internship to their profile, with a bio on my company’s website as a team member as well.
I understand how demanding the workload can be at Miami, so I’m open to having more than one student on board. I have a clear brand identity (logos, color palette, typefaces, etc.) and templates in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. However, I would love for someone to bring a fresh design perspective to assist in the following areas:
- Squarespace website updates (no experience needed, just a willingness to learn)
- Instagram content creation and graphics: I’ve already started the standards but welcome new ideas within my brand’s aesthetic.
- Design presentations (welcome guides, proposals, contracts)
- Email marketing formats
- Social media/web marketing
- Graphics/GIFs for social media
- AI automation integration (e.g., linking Calendly to automated email workflows)
- Designing pamphlets
- Graphics for merchandise (clothing, water bottles, tote bags, etc.)
- Email signature
Additionally, I’m looking for an intern who can assist with writing for social content, my website, and print mediums. I am also looking for a student to assist in video editing in premier.
